Our Past

We purchased our first Great Dane puppy in 1979, an inbred fawn bitch out of
two champions.  She was the only female in her litter.  We did not realize
how lucky we were to have made that purchase at that time but three years
later we decided to breed her and she produced a wonderful litter for us.
Out of that litter came our first champion, Ch Rojon's Sir Robley Dun Ora.
In August of 1982 at the Great Dane Club of Milwaukee match Robbie won the 2
to 4 month class of 15 puppy dogs and went best puppy in match.  We were
hooked. Robbie also made us proud when he was selected as Best Junior at the
GDCA first independent national specialty show in 1983.

After showing Robbie for several months we decided it would be good to get
him a girlfriend.  We purchased a pretty brindle bitch from George and
Phyllis Ryan and began to show her as well.  When it came time to breed
Coco, though, we felt she would not be a compatible mate for Robbie and
instead took her to Ray Cataldi's dog, Boy.

From that mating we kept one brindle bitch, Highland's Royal Salute.  Lacy was indeed a beautiful bitch and she showed much promise as a show prospect, however as she matured, she turned into a homebody and was never comfortable going to shows.  She did become an excellent brood bitch and mother producing many excellent offspring.

We were beginning to get established as breeders.

Being pleased with the results of our first litter out of Boy we took Ricki to him and she produced an all fawn litter of which we retained one bitch, Highland's Sunnyside Up (Goldie).

When Lacy was older we bred her to Robbie and out of that litter came our next two champions, Ch Highland's Mac Dougal Dun Ora and Ch Highland's Dagmar
